It's not a "real rule". It is simply a general tendency for stocks to go up 3 days after they announce news. Obviously we can buy before or
after news releases, but there are a lot of people (institutions,etc) that won't jump in on news until they do there due diligence on a company. That may be one of the reasons the stock went up today. You see it happen alot with stocks that release good news. The news is released, people jump on board, stock goes up and finishes strong into the close, gaps up in the AM the next day and then gets hammered by daytraders taking their profits. Now today, we see accumulation. Steady buying above $4.
Long term investors entering the picture after the initial run up and after their DD.

I bought after the initial news release (just in case it didn't go down), and then averaged down my position yesterday as the daytraders bailed and some other investors jumped ship.

Maybe we should call it the "3 day effect".
