Oppenheimer's revised numbers:
1Q98 2Q98 3Q98 4Q98 FY98
---- ---- ---- ---- ----
0.50A 0.59 0.33 0.27 1.69

This was taken directly from the report they issued, not the
First Call estimate summary page. The 0.50 actual is what
they put in the report.

Looks like Oppenheimer is suggesting that 3DFX has one more
quarter before competition starts taking its toll. Whether
they're right or not only time will tell. But I think the
uncertainty will keep a lid on any big upward stock price
movement.

Boot magazine had a preview of the Matrox MGA-G200 in their
latest issue. The alpha reference board they tested was
running at 70% clock speed of the final board, and yet the
numbers it produced weren't that far from the Voodoo2. And
it promises to have close to double the Millenium II's 2D
performance. Here's the comparison table.

Matrox Voodoo2 Riva128 i740
ForsakenMark (D3D)
640x480 93.59fps 108.20fps 71.67fps 64.63fps
800x600 55.89fps 57.93fps 54.24fps 41.98fps

X (D3D)
640x480 79.83fps 92.54fps 69.82fps 66.63fps

Turok (D3D)
640x480 48.90fps 62.80fps 50.60fps 39.40fps
800x600 33.70fps 44.90fps 34.20fps 26.30fps

Keep in mind that the Matrox is running at 70% clock speed.
