That's a good one! Don't even bother responding to John Paris, though. This Aware booster is, well, incoherent most of the times.

A lot of people don't seem to appreciate the fact that Amati
now has 2 distinct sources of chips, TI and MOT, both of whom
expect to release their chips by the end of the 1997 1st quarter.
As you probably know, the RBOCs are quite leery of sourcing
their equipment from single sources. That's partly why, the RBOCs
are also notorious for being so standards-compliant.

Last time I checked, ADI was the only source of the DwMT chips.
Nobody else has a program to incorporate wavelet compression
algorithms into any type of xDSL chipset. That's a distinct
disadvantage, imo.

P.S. Well, AMTX actually has 3 sources of xDSL chips with NEC
being the primary partner in the VDSL project.
