Hello mike: I'd been waiting for continued to continue. What happened, did you fall asleep. <ggg> Just kidding. I agree, it's amazing how one weaves there way through potential danger. I'm sure thinking back there were many near misses. Some guys I knew traveled with a dog. Besides, how else can a grub pick up any chicks ay. <gg> Having that added protection in those days was helpful. There loyalty is second to none. Where I work there are some very interesting people that have in there past done rather unusual stuff. Just the other day in speaking with a new employee (spare board). I discovered that this person had traveled the world for 18 years with a backpack. Either by 10 speed or hitchhiking. He has visited 112 countries. In one trip he rode his 10 speed, camping outdoors every night, from alaska to chile. The guy just blew me away. I found out that this person offers slide presentations of his travels. He's got thousands of slides of all these countries. I think there's a charge to attend. So of course I asked him why did he settle here. He said vancouver island was the best place of all to live. He's married now, with two kids. His plan when he turns 50 is to travel accross russia by bike and backpack. I asked him how he supported himself. He told me by doing odd jobs. He was a blacksmith in one country and even babysat camels in the dessert. Sounds like this guy was actually living out the dreams of many including mine. Have a good one bud mikey
