There is a book , well worth reading, which has studied various mania's over the centuries. It is called "Extraordinary Popular Delusions and the Madness of Crowds". This book studies the mass hysteria that has happened in many markets over the last 500 years and possibly the most famous was the "tulip" craze in Holland in the 1700's. Back then for some reason tulip bulbs became the most sought after commodity on the planet and they were reportedly worth upwards of 1,000 dollars per bulb depending on how perfect it was. Reportedly, people were put to death for theft of bulbs, and noone was able to ever buy enough at any price. The book says that one servant accidently ate his masters tulip bulb thinking it was an onion and suffered some horrible penalty (hands cut off or something).......anyway, as all bubbles must end, at some point the tulip bulb just stopped being in demand, and lo and behold! a lot of idiots had put their life savings into tulip bulbs and went bankrupt virtually from one day to the next.

The book covers the obvious crash of '29 and more obscure bubbles like the famous "South Sea bubble" and many others...I highly recommend reading it. BUT PLEASE, don't buy it at AMZN, I am short that stock also......try barnesandnoble.com or even better try acses.com At this site, Acses, you type in the book you want and it searches 30 bookstores and comes back with the one with the lowest price( and it is never AMZN...)

About the after market quote, sorry I have no clue today......I doubt it was much different than the close.....have a nice weekend.....;^)
