Jacob:

I appreciate your comments regarding the pros and cons of DRIPs. My contention was regarding the monetary benefits of owning DRIPs. Of course, with ANY investment, including mutual funds, there's a chance that ANY investor would become attached to a particular investment, DRIP or mutual fund. I have my IRA investments in mutual funds and a 403(b), however, my regular account money is in various DRIPs. I enjoy being directly involved in the stock market. I am also purchasing stocks to hold for the long-term, but I will not become attached to any stock if their fundamentals or earnings don't justify the price of the stock or warrant it as a "hold" or "buy".
