I guess I'm still a little skeptical. The relationship between chemical composition and octane is pretty well understood. All of the major oil companies and ethanol manufacturers have been doing R&D for years defining the octane boost provided by ethanol, methanol, MTBE, TAME, ETBE and every other oxygenated compound you can imagine. If DF-144 is made via a simple, inexpensive process by reaction of "ethanol with butane and/or natural gasoline", I don't understand how it can be made up of anything that hasn't already been fully explored by others. If Arconenergy has patent protection for the additive composition, why the need for secrecy? Before considering an investment, I'd like to have a better understanding of the scientific underpinnings here and, so far, I haven't been unearth them in the multitude (you guys are prolific!) of previous posts in this and the MIDL threads. The claim of 227 octane sounds too good to be true, I worry that maybe it is. On the other hand, if someone can tell me what the "magic" compound or mixture of compounds is, then I can better assess the validity of the claim - if they have patent protection, why the secrecy????? Flame away if you must....just trying to do my DD!
