<<RE:SLoB & Joe-They were going over earnings that are to be released on Monday and comparing estimates with last years numbers.>>
Alex..Thanks for clearing that up. It does make sense that this is what was said Fri.on CNBC by Kernan re: SLB earnings.
While on the subject, I know the importance placed on SLB's quarterly and how it will usually influence the stock movement of the whole oil service sector. While SLB is the leader, it should also be remembered the diversity of SLB..and that its earnings could be affected by Asia exposure from SLB's technology business, etc..Their earnings will therefore have to be broken down into oil/tech/other categories to more accurately reflect relevance to our stocks...
Gasoline demand will be starting to increase with the season; I think that +$15 oil is going to keep our stocks out of the abyss. I remember the song lyrics.."I've been down so long, it looks like up to me". Just could be that the punishment to the sector is behind us for awhile, barring some general collapse of the market.
Good luck to all...
