Geoff, yes, good post ...may I add two points?
Point 1.
Federal Judges, and the Appelate Courts, and finally, the Supreme Court will ( i predict ) rule that various laws restricting advertising , and punative prior damages, and , privacy, acts between adults, etc.... in favor of Tobacco. Witness, the decision by the Florida Federal Judge last week, with respect to throwing out, the union suit against Tobacco.
In other words, the entire consititutional issues, and the "due process" issues in particular, remain, valuable and potent ammunition inthe Tobacco inventory of fighting back tools.
Point 2. The intelligience, ethics, and nature of the political people, who, instead of acting as "wise" men and women, instead, are whores to self interests.
If I hear , once again, "its for the children", I am going to go mad. As we know, there are already laws against underage purchase of tobacco, alcohol, etc. Just as there are more than 20000 regulations on firearms, helmut laws, etc... etc... you know the drill.
The congressional politicians and the so called experts from the health care, are NOT as smart, as THEY believe they are.
As Rarebird, said, keep it up, and there is a job for you on Wall Street.
bought more MO, last week.
