Smart Money Ranks Web Street Securities #1 Brokerage

CHICAGO, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Web Street Securities earned the #1
ranking in Smart Money's Best Online Brokerage survey that was released on the
magazine's web site this week.
Once again, Web Street Securities was recognized for its low commissions
and highest possible quality service, combined with a state-of-the-art trading
system and top-rated technical support. This is the third major award for Web
Street Securities in the past two months, including top ratings from Barron's
and Gomez Advisors.
Barron's gave Web Street its highest possible Four Star rating two weeks
ago, and Gomez Advisors ranked Web Street one of its top five All-Star
Brokerages and #1 brokerage for active traders last month. All of these
rankings come in the first year of business for Web Street Securities, founded
by brothers Joe and Avi Fox last July.
In addition to its top rankings by Smart Money, Barron's and Gomez, Web
Street has secured an exclusive position on the front page of The Motley
Fool's web and America Online sites, the details of which will be announced
next week. The Motley Fool is renowned as one of the most popular investing
forums in the online world and has advertising relationships with virtually
every major brokerage.
Smart Money awarded Web Street its highest possible rating for customer
service and technical support, noting that the brokerage provided 24-hour
service seven days a week. Smart Money pointed out that Web Street was the
only online deep discount brokerage to provide such quality service, equal to
the full service offered by Fidelity Investments.
In reviewing Web Street, Smart Money reported, "Not yet a year old, Web
Street combines low commissions and fees with around-the-clock service and
speedy tech support. In addition, expect free real time quotes and online
account information that's immediately updated."
Web Street is the only major brokerage to offer free commissions on Nasdaq
trades of 1,000 or more shares, it was noted by Smart Money. All other trades
are $14.95, among the lowest prices in the industry.
Web Street Securities, the only first-year brokerage in the Smart Money
rankings, beat out such established brokerages as Schwab, E*TRADE, Fidelity,
AmeriTrade, Waterhouse, Datek, DLJ Direct, American Express and Quick &
Reilly.
Web Street was the only brokerage to place in Barron's four-star rankings
and Gomez's top All-Star ratings, prior to being named #1 overall by Smart
Money.
Another unique Web Street feature cited by Barron's is the way its trade
execution reports pop up on the same screen, so the customer doesn't have to
switch from screen to screen to get the necessary information. From the same
screen, you can check balances, positions, and news and get more real-time
quotes.
Additionally, Web Street Securities was featured in a Fortune Magazine
article last month about the best online brokerages. Fortune reported,
"there's a lot of buzz surrounding Web Street Securities and its snazzy online
Trading Pit, which features scrolling news headlines, live updating stock
prices, up-to-the-minute holdings, and bid and ask quotes from market makers."
