Can you really distinguish these Jews from Syrians, Iraqis, and Arabs?
I think if you were blindfolded and released in Syria, Lebanon or some other arab country you would think that you have been droped in the midst of a of a Jewish neighborhood.
I know what you mean, however. Before I married into the Khazar clan and became sensitized to the nuances of Judaism, I also sterotyped all Jews as semitic.
