Yes, Dwight, now you are clear, straight forward, and OFFENSIVE!!!
Too bad, Christine. That's life, huh? We aren't always pleased with other people's views. I doubt a homosexual would be too remorseful if he knew that his lifestyle was offensive to me, so I'm not going to get all teary-eyed if my beliefs are offensive to you.
There is definitely a way to be unoffended without throwing out your moral and spiritual beliefs, but it involves things like understanding the difference between people who are evil or criminal and those who are ill or disabled or doomed, and it also involves being charitable and tolerant, and I do not think you have these capabilities within you.
Ohhhhhhhhhhh. Christine, your statement above about me not being capable of charity is precisely what I knew would happen if I was precisely clear about homosexuality being sin, and about overtly sinful lifestyles being offensive. I necessarily have brought in promiscuous people, alcoholics, etc, simply to show that I am not "out to get" homosexuals, or paint them with an exclusive evil brush. I see that my effort was for nothing. Oh well. Did I say that homosexuals are evil or criminal? No I didn't. Did I say alcoholics or promiscuous people are evil or criminal? No I didn't. Did I say that mankind by nature tends towards evil? Yes I did. Is that discriminatory against certain groups of people? No. It's a belief towards all mankind equally.
Sin is offensive to God, and it always has been. Nevertheless, he loves us, even though we so often stray into sin. |
