I made a terrible trade on Friday. I bought AVEI on the open. I expected the stock to have a huge reversal on Friday, especially after the sell off on Thursday. The earnings were nothing short of spectacular as I had the opportunity to read both the DLJ and Goldman research. One curious thing however, why do Cowen, DLJ and Goldman only have a $50 price target on this stock? Based on the huge upward revisions in earnings, the stock should have a target of $80 or better. The only thing I have found so far that may suggest why AVEI is under selling pressure is that BSX is about to announce it's next generation stent. BSX is acting the best in the group right now, better than GDT, MDT and AVEI. There may be other, more sinister forces at work, either way, the market is suggesting something is terribly wrong at AVEI. I will probably have to take my loss over the next few trading sessions and wait for the other shoe to drop. Goolie
