Chuzzlewit, OT My last comment- You employ a typical Democratic apologist's trick- trying to change the subject! The subject is Al Gore and his/his wife's tax return! Not the Clintons! As a former Honors Program Attorney for the Carter Administration, I can assure you that so-called programs for "low-income people" is a DNC buzzword for programs that benefit primarily hardcore Democratic constituencies. The Democratic Party is simply trying to protect its power base. So get off your lame Democratic chest beating about how "low income people" will be hurt if programs are cut. I know internal Democratic politics because I have been there- You do not fool me in a wit.

My friends out there- What are "hardcore Democratic constituencies"? The are: African Americans, Labor Union Members (majority thereof since a large minority consistently votes Republican), homosexual activists, feminists, and environmental radicals- hardly a cross section of America.

If you wish to protect the interests of those particular special interest groups- so be it - vote Democratic.

As for donations to charities I said in my last note that I commended Ms. Clinton for her charitable donations- that is exactly what she should be doing. But as for the hypocrite newspaper reporter turned Vice President, I find it truly embarassing that he (and his wife) report an adjusted gross income of $197,000, and gave only $343 to charities in 1998- exactly a $1.05/day.

So the next time that Vice President Gore glares at you and calls you to follow him to a "higher moral order", rock back on your heels and laugh at the hollow hypocrite- he's not willing to make the sacrifice himself- a true "me generation" yuppie.... Just give me the benefits- I do not want to make any sacrifices....Or as the late Japanese Film Director Akira Kurosawa would dub Al Gore, "Kagemusha"- A Shadow Warrior.... Trust me I'll take a real person such as Dick Armey anyday over former newspaper reporter Gore- and that coming from a former Democratic Administration Member!

Sincerely,

Doug F.
