Sent the following praise to Borland's advertising veep: "I don't see anything particularly striking about your new website which is at best run-of-the-mill. Have you ever used the web? I suggest taking a look at Lotus', IBM's, Sun's or SGI's sites to get a handle on the basics of website design. By the way, the ad you have been running in PC WEEK has been the butt of several jokes and I'm wondering why it's not as obvious to you as it is to everyone else who has seen it that it's a horrible advertisement. I hope we don't have more of the management-by-vacuum which led to your demise in the first place. If you're going to place a gaunt, featureless loner in your advertisement the least you could do is ensure that he or she is awake (read: not sleeping)."
