If the meeting is before WWDC, perhaps they are worried that some big announcements planned for WWDC will leak at the shareholder's meeting.

It is strange though, the announcement said that all members of the press that are not shareholders are barred from the meeting. So all someone has to do is buy one share of AAPL on the open market and then they can attend? :-)
