Actually, long before the "pale faces" came to Los Angeles the native American inhabitants called this "The Valley of the Smokes" because of the inversion layer. We took the natural inversion properties of the area, added a special toxic cocktail to the mix and walla ... Smog! Thus, we take credit for inventing smog. And, we accomplished this remarkable feat long before Mexico City became industrialized!! I do have to acknowledge though that they are probably light years ahead of us now in "air quality" or lack there of.

Harvard? On the G.I. Bill with a wife, two kids and two jobs it was all I could do to afford ( and stay awake through ) the State University system!! At one point I thoroughly understood the metric conversion tables, but I kinda lost interest when the U.S. Government changed its' mind about converting to metrics. (;o)
