Jeff, I sold off my PIXR after the earnings & video release since it did not go back to 20 as it did a few weeks ago. Of course, the market conditions were very poor on earnings announcements on Tuesday, so PIXR was trying to buck a down market...difficult to do. HOWEVER, I did buy back my shares later in the week, albeit a little higher than my original basis which I just sold, and am disappointed to see its slow decline since earnings. Should've held off on buying back until a real reversal, but I was hoping for a delayed earnings run as the news was disseminated after the initial release.Nevertheless, I wouldn't dream of taking a loss now on this position, and was only locking in profits by selling out on Tuesday (glad I did, given PIXR's decline later in the week). I will also report back regarding some information that I've gotten from the company... I will be speaking with them again this week, and I am going to ask them what PIXR's cut on the video is, exactly, as well as about "Bugs". I want to know if "Bugs" is #2 of the 3 on contract w/ Disney. I don't think it is, as there is yet another movie in the making for a Xmas 1998 release. "Independence Day" is surely not a competition for us w/ "Toy Story", an entirely different audience, and frankly, these buyers will just by both titles! One for the kiddies, one for the adults!! My kids have already watched "Toy Story" 6 times since we bought our copy this week at Wal-mart: $16.95 less $5.00 instant rebate if you buy the specially marked KODAK Gold 200 film pack (for $9ish...). Cheap!! So, DIS hooked themselves up w/ Kodak, and PIXR will go along for the ride! Even if PIXR doesn't get tremendous revenues from this video release, they are well positioned & in a growth stage; the earnings speak for themselves. They need to get their name out more, since the "Toy Story" Academy Awards thing, there hasn't been much press on them. The stock is cheap here, and unless the market really declines, there is excellent support in the 15-16 range, short term, I think. I intend to keep trading the stock, but will always keep an arsenal in the portfolio for longer term investment purposes, as this stock will definitely continue to cruise, I think. Don't worry about the recent declines....mostly smaller hits, individual investors (like me!) locking in profits in this volatile market. Very little institutional holdings on the stock, I think 6%. It is driven up & down on small volumes generated by individuals, not fund managers so far. Unless there is a big announcement, the stock drifts slowly up & down, and there are few big volume days, although we've seen a couple within the last month...one up to 20, one down recently. It reversed on Friday, and will stabilize shortly. Then, I'm buying more! Anyone else coming aboard? Hey, you guys at 20-30 & so on should check into writing some covered calls, at least for Nov. or Dec., if they are available...I haven't checked them out, but will do so on Monday, and post if there's any good options floating around to generate a couple of points. Those of you at a loss could put some cash into your accounts until PIXR recoups! I'm no expert, but it would seem like a prudent investment opportunity to me, if I were at a big loss right now! Good luck to all, and thanks for keeping us posted on sales, Jeff!! I will be returning to Disney the first weekend of December, and will also post on any news that I can find from that trip!! Take care, everybody! BTW,let's take a vote: Buzz Lightyear or Woody??? Who's your favorite? :) Vicki |
