Kathleen, thanks. After the night I had, the last thing I wanted to do was to have to spend the day sifting through MU's SEC filings <g>

Okay, so the transaction occurred in 2Q'98. It involved buying out remaining minority interests in a partially-owned subsidiary through stock and stock options.

Why would the Micron Display transaction be a cash deal ($21 million) and the MQD deal involve stock and stock options ($26.2 million)? Also, what's up with financing part of the transaction in stock options?

When did the MQD deal go down?
2Q covers a 3-month window over which the stock price of MU underwent a dramtic appreciation, up over 50% at one point from the end of its 1Q.
How was the currency valued?
For example, was it the price of MU on date X? An average of the prices of MU from date X to date Y?
Was it when MU was trading @ 25? Or @ 38?
What portion of the transaction was stock and what portion was stock options? Or was the "stock options" component merely a way of assuming the MQD employee stock options plan?

If you look at what occured in the stock price of MU compared to what happened out in the real world (i.e. earnings, prices of key products, etc.) there's an obvious disconnect.

It would be interesting to know who MU's I-bankers were on the MQD transaction.

Good trading,

Tom
