mikey - I'm not sure exactly what you're getting at. When you purchase the program you get a seasons worth of daily updates along with it.
For the following year, if you choose not to register again, you may use the program by manually entering the player stats. This would take longer but it can be done. The whole idea of using this type of program is the ease of use. You could update your pool in seconds with just a few mouse clicks. Entering player stats manually into this program would not be any different than what you are doing now with a spreadsheet.
Yes the program does store the participants information from season to season but I would think you would change it every year as everyone in your pool would not have the same team each year.
Poolside can be downloaded free and you get 2 weeks of free downloads for the playoff season so the best thing you could do is try it. Download it and set up your participants teams and download the daily updates. It's so easy, you'll never want to go back to manually.
Hope I've answered your questions, but if I haven't, more questions are welcome, you're not a pain.

regards
Jerry
