Chris, I found a few from BLSH. But what has happened is that I have picked stocks and then had them recommended by BLSH. The most current case is with Global Election Systems. I suggested to Grant Robertson of BLSH a few months ago that this stock might interest their readers. This came about as I heard that one of my holdings, TS TELECOM was being considered as a potential candidate for a writeup. However, because of the Asian Crisis, BLSH decided to stay away, so I suggested GSM. Visionwall is another stock I own, which got recommended recently by BLSH. Tinman from the VI.A thread takes credit for spotting it first. I followed Techmire before it was recommended by BLSH, now with a 2nd quarter of good earnings it looks like a good buy now (illiquid stock).
Other picks I've had and sold prior to seeing them recommended on BLSH have been Badger Daylighting and Silent Witness. I don't believe that CUQ has been recommended by BLSH.
I usually scan newswire services, FP, and G&M earnings reports to seek out companies. The BLSH does offer good leads on some companies, but I find that they pick a lot of microcaps which are at times very illiquid.
Most of the fun in playing the market is picking stocks and having them recommended by a newsletter, analyst, etc., that's when it starts to really move (hopefully, especially for small caps). |
