Thanks for the information. Looks like I need to do more research on this industry. Is there a trade pub or journal covering this industry that you would recommend?

Besides the air-bag application, I'm told that Zoltek supplies carbon fiber used in strenghtening concrete in bridges and freeway supports to make them less vulnerable to earthquakes. This alone sounds like a very large market. Do you agree?

My background is aerospace engineering. Before retiring in 1990 I saw significant applications of Carbon composites in fighter airplane (eg F-18A/C/D) airfoils. That's pretty high quality material and probably not the type supplied by Zoltek. Who supplies Carbon material for aerospace use?

Carbon composites also seem to have found application in tennis rackets and golf clubs. GM's electric vehicle, EV-1, uses Carbon material as a means to lighten weight. If this trend to lighter vehicular structures catches on, the market for carbon filament could be humongous. And, presumably, Zoltek has a competitive advantage as lowest cost supplier with their proprietary continuous carbon-fiber production technique. Do you agree?

Zoltec's new plant, I'm told, is in St. Louis.

Regards.

Tulvio
