[As it is I have zero personal debt and I feel that lets me take some risk]

I have no debt either (no mortgage, no car loan, no credit card debts, no student loans). Debt limits your freedom!!

It's astonishing how much of the current economic boom is funded by debt. Governments, businesses, and individuals are up to their eyeballs in debt. You look around and see new homes and offices being built, lots of new cars, stores jammed to the ceiling with goods, and massive government spending, and it's all being financed by debt. I think that when this market crashes, historians will say that one of the biggest factors was the amount of debt in the U.S.
