Assimilated? Not that I'm aware of. Though I'm hopeful since reading of the Microsoft plan to pay people who support them - as described in the Los Angeles Times, of a stipend. Large I hope! Boy, I'd really be on their side then.
Meanwhile, I just have to go on bashing away - Microsoft is great, Bill Gates is my idol, I love Windows 95, can't wait for Windows 98.
Oh, hang on. No Qualcomm is even better and Andrew Viterbi is amazing. Qualcomm will swamp Microsoft with its cdmaOne, Casio deals and Anita [TM] with Eudora, Globalstar, GPS rescue response, car factories and high safety air travel.
Yayy for Qualcomm's monopoly on cdmaOne IPR. No Philip Merryman moral discounts - morality dictates charging the maximum so that people who can really make the money sing get it and do even more wonderful things with it. If you reduce IPR charges, all you'll get is Q-dogs saving some money and wasting it on fancy dog biscuits.
Go on MightyQ, tell Ericsson the price of a licence just went up again. It should go on increasing for another few years - until the patent expiry date starts to loom then start discounting the licence fees.
Meanwhile, if Mighty Q and Microsoft could please redirect my monthly fee to my new Bermuda address it would be appreciated...

[Great rant Ramsey - saves me typing. The most important human right is freedom from the imposts of the state - be they physical harm or restraint or a conspiracy by tax beneficiary voters to compulsorily acquire taxpayer money. If you worry about monopoly - start at state power monopoly and throw some more restraint on that $Umpty Trillion Hyena Pack.
The USA has a pretty decent system, but still weak. It shouldn't be too proud because it is half a step ahead of what has been a desperately impoverished colonized and brutalized Asia. Were racially selected USA citizens kept in the back of buses and out of state funded schools by law in living memory? Were Vietnamese slaughtered by the village full by Lt William Calley who was barely punished; his comfy confinement to base being a poor comparison with the hanging meted out to genocide artists from Japan and Germany.] |
