"Schleimel, shlemazel, hossenpepper, corporated" are part of the theme from the Laverne and Shirley show. I had no idea what they meant until now. Is it "Megilla" as in "Megilla Gorilla"? I have also heard "Yenta" meaning an old lady I think. In Canada all the expressions you have indicated are rarely, if ever heard on TV, but in the case of U.S. TV I believe they are more common. Shows like "The Nanny" and others use Yiddish expressions frequently. I was going to ask you if they were considered slang, but you answered my question already. Here is a good question: If you speak Yiddish, do you have a pretty good grasp of Hebrew, or not? --I will try not to be a schleimel or shlemazel schlepping through life.
