I check the forum from time to time, looking for news. Most of the orginal people are now gone off to better plays. It used to be fun checking this site and reading the upbeat news about the "next big resource caculation" or the "major player" that was going to buy us all out. It was too late and $100,000 later (American Dollars) I discovered that I had been scammed. You all ask how could I have let this happen? Let me list the ways.

1. I was greedy-looking for the big win.
2. Received phone calls and e-mail every week from Delmar Newman telling me how lucky I was to be able to buy so many shares. What I didn't know was it was his shares I was buying and he was laughing all the way to the bank. He called me every day in December of '96 when I indicated that I was going to sell my shares (I was down 20%) for the tax loss.
3. Just read a news item about a couple of swindlers in Florida that started news groups to hype worthless stocks. They would post messages under several names asking questions which they in turn would answer themselves under another name.

What have I learned?

1. NEVER buy stock from a company that calls you on the phone.
2. Don't trust anything you read in a news group, you don't know you wrote it.
3. Follow your own gut feeling when investing your own money. And most important walk away from the play that seems too good to be true. The only tower of gold is in G.C.'s backyard.

just my thoughts.
