Hi Preston. Tomorrow's IBD reports that the AMEX is going to offer "SPDR Sectors" later this year. It appears that they will trade depositary receipts for sectors such as chemical, heathcare etc.

As you probably know, you can buy S&P 500 depositary receipts (SPY) as an alternative to buying an S&P500 index fund. There are no end of year distributions, no management fees and you can trade (or short) intraday.

This is great news for PNF types. For example - sometime in the future the Auto sector will go bull alert. We can buy SPA (or whatever they will call the auto sector) just like stocks.
