[International conference on VDSL, April 20-21, London]
first reference that i remember of coms interest in vdsl... believe BT Labs has tested orctf vdsl and Harris of course is orctf vdsl silicon partner... CSELT is the Telecom Italia Group Company for research, experimentation and qualification in telecommunications and information technology.... may be orctf connections there...
"...Satellite operators can use their downlink to provide seemingly limitless data capacity. Cable operators have the capability of delivering high bit rate services to domestic premises, thanks to the cable/optical fibres that pervade most conurbations. VDSL enables telecom operators to compete in the ever-expanding domestic information market, especially with the uptake of Internet-based applications and video-on-demand. The convergence of TV and computer technologies may come about sooner than we think. "
The conference has guest speakers from: ADSL Forum, BT Laboratories, Ericsson, Harris Semiconductor, CSELT, and 3COM
