Hospitals and doctors are very reluctant to change products or procedures, unless something has years of testing by other docs, usually on foreign patients[we don't experiment on Americans]. Being one of the first to try something greatly increases the malpractice liability.
If BSX has a similar product, it's unlikely that a hospital would chance it, even if it's cheaper, unless it's been "proven" better, because one lawsuit can equal $10,000,000.
