Allen,

Specifically, they will note: Digita for digital imagery operating systems; Adobe and EFII for printer operating systems; JetSend for consumer product connectivity; NCI for Enhanced TV; and I2O for I/O processors.

I think the revelation last conference call that VxWorks is being used in nearly all cable modems and over half xDSL modems also deserves mention, especially seeing what a smashing success the Broadcom IPO was on Friday. I believe Com21 is going public in the next week or two. It appears that cable delivery of the internet is gaining momentum, although Wind River is also well positioned for xDSL.

While the publicity in embedded systems lately has clearly been on the consumer market, all signs are that Wind River continues to gain more and more of a dominating presence in the telecom/datacom and office automation markets.

Aided by the H&Q analyst's misstatements about the importance of basing pRISM+ exclusively (sort of) on CORBA, WIND's stock price took a hit starting last summer

It looks like H&Q hasn't changed their tune concerning pRISM+. Their report this month called pRISM+ a "next generation" development environment and commented that Tornado hasn't had a major release in nearly two years and needs one soon. Due to pRISM+'s CORBA based architecture, H&Q implied that Integrated Systems has a competitive advantage over Wind River Systems and INTS is a better buy than WIND.

Regards,
Jason
