Does anyone have any idea of how BORL plans to position
VisiBroker in its future strategy ? Since Sun will be shipping
a free Java ORB in its JDK 1.2 (and that will surely become
a de facto standard as a basic ORB), I assume BORL will try to
deliver add-on products such as new implementations of CORBAServices. VisiBroker now have naming, event and transaction services but there are about ten more in the CORBA standard, services which currently no vendor, not even IONA, has implemented. I also assume tighter integration with its current and future development tools, and support for the upcoming Business Object Component Architecture (which lays on top of CORBA, and looks very promising but rather complex to implement).

Any other speculations or ideas what will be announced on April 29th (besides the name change) would also be interesting to hear.

Best regards,

Hans-Erik
