Re: 3) The DOW 9000 is mostly a result of it being reconfigured last year. Kicking out Westinghouse and adding HWP and WalMart probably added 500 points to the DOW. If this is done every two years or so we could have a DOW 20000 in another decade.

I dunno 'bout that. Westinghouse (now CBS) has doubled since it was dropped from the Dow. CBS was 17 (now 35); H-P was 48 (now 63) and WMT was 23 (now 53). What was the other that got dropped?
