Harold,

I have to agree with you regarding your outlook on WSTL. I went long on the stock last week just for the reason you stated. I know the current fundamentals are disappointing and the technical outlook appears unexciting. However, I like how WSTL seems to hold in this 11 - 13 range despite lots of money moving to the glamor internet and large capitalization stocks. The report last week that internet access and usage is doubling every 100 days is favorable news for companies involved in ADSL. I don't know a lot about the technology other than that it will significantly improve data transfer by overcoming the modulate/demodulate limits of current analog/digital interface technology. (Someone correct me if I'm wrong.)

Why did I pick WSTL? The Lucent relationship is the key reason. I also considered Aware after it had run up to above 14 recently but it has not held its gain so I went with WSTL. If people sincerely believe that companies involved in internet information/games, commerce and transactions will be strong growth-orented businesses for years to come, then why should they not eventually (hopefully soon) believe that the data transfer capability through ADSL will not be the same - especially with all of these major companies (like Lucent) working to develop standards.

Have a great day,
Paul
