Jocelyn,

thanks for some excellent speculations/answers.

Enterprise JavaBeans is of course a part of the strategy. Since JavaBeans isn't distributed in itself, it needs a distributed object technology and that will either be CORBA or RMI. CORBA is much more developed and mature than RMI, and even though RMI can run over IIOP soon it's still not ready for enterprise development.

So a "Borland Solution" would be JBuilder IDE + VisiBroker + Object Transaction Service + Enterprise JavaBeans + DB Integration tools. Sounds good to me! SUNW,BEA,ORCL etc. can't provide such a complete solution, they all have their weak spots. And hopefully Borland can implement some more CORBAservices and sell as add-ons.

How about a repository product and a modeling tool as well ? Or will they just "integrate" with repositories from MSFT or ORCL, and Rational Rose from RATL ?

Best regards,

Hans-Erik
