RESEARCH ALERT - PaineWebber ups Pfizer NEW YORK, April 20 (Reuters) - PaineWebber said on Monday it raised its rating on shares of Pfizer Inc. to attractive from neutral. -- Viagra, Pfizer's new drug for erectile dysfunction, had new prescriptions of 36,263 for the week ended April 10. -- Analyst Jeff Chaffkin said this was the largest first week launch in history. -- ''While we expect this drug to have an unusually steep ramp-up, then a more gradual rise, this initial level is clearly higher than our expectations and a sign of tremendous pent-up demand,'' he said. -- Biggest long-term issue will be whether growth can be sustained but preliminary signs are encouraging, he said. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
