The gist of the story though is probably listed below. We show in this mini-project (postscript), that much like their ancient blind predecessors, blanket statements made from a few poorly chosen metrics tend to miss the whole picture and does little to help the poor architect decide what machine to build to satisfy the needs of these applications. This is from http.cs.berkeley.edu I agree that you are correct in that worldwide expansion negates many of the bears arguments regarding PC slowdown. And yes we will always be dealing with uncertainty; however, those of us who dig deeply enough will hopefully have an edge. OT - TradeStation just crashed! Even with a UPS too! Rats. Best, Lee
