I followed VISX and BEAM very closely about 3 years ago, when BEAM was trading at $36and VISX was around $11. My, how things have changed. The part I don't understand is how there can be such a huge diffefernce between VISX and BEAM. If I recall, BEAM receives about 65% of the royalties from Pillar Point, and VISX gets about 35%. I am certain the current gap will close. As for these laser eye centers, they will be a cash cow. LCAV has proven the know what they are doing by turning around the lagging centers they obtained from BEAM. The numbers are increasing expotentially. Word of mouth about this modern miracle will spread quickly. What I would like to see is an aggresive expansion plan by LCAV. If you think the most recent quarterly numbers were good, wait till next quarter, and the quarter after that, and the one after that, etc..... One thing to keep in mind. As I understand it, only one eye is done at a time, with a waiting period before the second eye is treated. So when you consider at least 50% of the eyes treated will be coming back(within the next quarter, I assume), plus NEW patients, the numbers will ramp up FAST! Also, I have heard that is some cases, only one eye needs to have the procedure. Has anyone heard anything in regards to this?
