Why it is dangerous to short SEEK! Obviously these stocks are not trading on technical valuations. They are trading on hope that the net will bring a better future and a better standard of living. These hopes and dreams have created a mania (see KTEL) of crazy valuations based on emotion, greed and insanity. There are going to be volatile down days where the very astute trader will make money...but... ANY GOOD NEWS in this sector including a buyout, merger, good earnings report, new technologies..these will feed the fire of the hearth of hope. Anyone caught short on one of these days could catch a 20 point gain and lose a lot of dough. The odds are that there will be good news somewhere in the sector. Some of the traders here are good, but are you that good? I can't predict tomorrow but I'll go out on a limb and predict blood in the streets for shorts over the rest of 98. Internet is here to stay. Too much potential even for a small fry like SEEK.
