hey senor---i've been out of touch (or touched in the head) for about 10 days. first off, had some computer related problems. the 3 1/2 year old is computer active, however she doesn't properly shut down when leaving the system. this has caused some kind of jumbeling problem in some areas including me having to relog onto si as someone who has never been there and guess what---i couldn't remember my &*#@* password. and since i was having e-mail problems it took a couple of days to get ahold of webmistress jill(i don't know about you guys, but i'm in fantasy city here) before i could get back into a respond mode. this is a prime example of a "strewie."

i had so much to say which is no longer timely or germain. i know--this has never stopped me before. spent most of last week in your part of the country in the windy city attending meetings with key accounts and at the international kitchen and bath show. it was great business wise and all i can tell you guys who don't own HOME DEPOT is that they are going to keep growning and growing. opened their 650th store last week and plan to have 1000 by the end of year 2000. they historicly always stick to their promises.

had a window of opportunity thursday afternoon to play gold out in oak brook. it was sunny and in the 60's wednesday and friday, but no, not on thursday when i wanted to play golf. commited another "strewie" by going out in 38 degree drizzle to have "fun." i'm still tring to get my fingers to bend enough so i can once again pick my nose. only thing i'm really very good at!

i thought by now you're VLSI system of less bb activity would have us pushing back into the mid 20's. i'm remaining patient here. bought some more HCIA last week bruce. not sure how many consecutive buys in a row, but i'm armed with mucho shares should this baby decide to head back north.

forgot to have a gtc to sell more PETM and SAFT and they both flew past sell points last week so i was FORCED to do "vealies" on both. cash reserve wasn't quite where it should have been, but that's the price you pay for a "strewie."

on the plus side, i have been following debeers, the world's largest diamond manufacturer, for a while and decided last monday to devote the entire new roth ira i had just opened to them. bingo!!! bought in at $22 and change, closed up over $26 today. not sure if this is a good AIM candidate, but i like the stock long term. market share like theirs in a multi billion dollar industry doesn't come along too often. they suffered from the asian flu, the thinking being the japaneese would cut back on extravagent purchases and they probably have. but----diamonds are forever so we'll see if we can carve out some growth from this baby.

gorunded for the rest of this week so i'll check in later. s.k.
