I called Arcon Energy and talked first to Dan Fisher and then to John Spriggs. I was very surprised how willing they were to talk to me. I was even more surprised they HAD that much time - shouldn't they be very, very busy making this company grow? Anyhow, I came away from both discussions with the impression they sincerely believe DF-144 is for real. They gave candid answers to every question I asked. Based on what they told me and everything else I have learned since Friday night, here are the questions I have been asking myself and the answers I think I have: Was I right about US Patents 5,679,117 and 118 being the ones Arcon has acquired? Yes, Dan confirmed it. Is 227 typical of the octane level for DF-144? No, 227 is the highest they have measured, 153-156 is more typical. Is this still very high? Absolutely! Is 1,1,1 trimethoxypentane the magic ingredient in DF-144? No. Good thing too cause it reacts with water! Does Arcon know what the magic ingredients are? To my amazement, they say no! Am I still skeptical that a trace component product from the reaction of ethanol with butane and natural gasoline can elevate the octane of the mix to over 150? Yes, but that's both my nature and my training; and, John and Dan say my reaction is very typical. Is it possible that DF-144 is for real? Yes, I suppose I have seen stranger things. They say they have made hundreds of octane measurements, and the material has tested well by an oil company they provided a sample to. If DF-144 is for real, will it make lots of money for Arcon? A ton, even more than they realize! What is the fair market value of MIDL ex DF-144? I have no clue! What is the fair market value of MIDL if DF-144 is a smashing success? I still have no clue, but I suspect the upside potential is stunning. Is there a possibility MIDL will rise sharply in the near term irrespective of the true ultimate impact of DF-144? Yes, if they keep cranking out press releases like the last one. Am I ready to bet the farm on this one? No. Am I shareholder? Yes, one of the newest ones, but only at a very, very modest level, for now..will continue to watch this one very closely waiting for a press release from a customer confirming they are buying DF-144 from Arcon and that it provides the advertised benefits. Do I think anyone will change their plans to buy or sell based on my opinions. I surely hope not! |
