H. Ross Perot, who was paid seven million to leave GM as head of the (then) EDS subsidiary, after he shook up the GM board. I am not a Perot fan, incidentally, but he has his good points. Guts is one of them--I must respect him for his commitment to what he believes, no matter how flakey I might think what he believes is. He told GM to piss off, and GM bought him off. No disrespect to Perot on that one; he wasn't going to win so he took them for what he could get. Smart. I'd have done the same in his place if I were smart enough. Which I doubt. (Heck, which I know.)
