Lotus Notes is in its 5th year and 3rd major version with Verity's search engine embedded. With all that's on Lotus' plate, I doubt they can afford to be messing around with this component. They will definitely settle with Verity--this is a small point for Lotus financially, but important to Verity.

There are many enterprise customers of Lotus Notes who have done further integrations utilizing Verity's engine in other apps and Verity's own apps. While I don't think this is the major factor, it is another factor in Verity's favor.

As Nick Arnett pointed out in an earlier post, there are several other IBM/Verity relationships in addition to Lotus. They should definitely be considered a potential acquiror.
