Robert, first of all with your holdings you are certainly not part of the "mom and pop" category (gg).

As for the order of events, I think CEO Bob Gruder is in a Catch-22 situation. Many people are of the opinion that Y2K companies are a flash in the pan, i.e. come 2000 they will all disappear. At every Y2K investor conference they invariably ask each Y2K company about life after 2000. So Bob can either say 1) we're entirely focused on the task at hand and we'll cross the post 2000 bridge when we come to it, or 2) we have a long-term game plan that we'll unfurl over time.

Obviously the politically correct choice is #2. But then to diversify either you have to 1) retrain and reinvent your entire staff very rapidly, or 2) purchase a company well along the path you'd like to be on post 2000 and integrate with them over time. If we agree that the best course of action is "2", then we get all sorts of questions about strategies for acquisitions; the same questions we are currently discussing.

So, as for the trail that precipitated the order of events, I'm not sure what ALYD could have done differently. However, I do agree there's a cloud over their accounting that needs to be evaporated before it rains on our parade again. Getting the Q1 numbers out as soon as possible would be a nice start.
