Yeah, I read the Forbes article. Very flattering for
Josh et. al. But the fact that Island trades only
cost market makers a dollar was posted on Josh's
page over a year ago (when I first read it); I don't
know how long before that. That's if you want to
post your firm's orders to Island. Wholesale,
that is, not retail. I don't have any objection
to markup over the dollar; I do have a problem with
not having front office access when there's a problem.

I am not a daytrader and I have nothing like the volume
of experience most folks on this thread have, but I
must say that I have no complaints about Datek's
execution of my trades. I wish I could say the
same about my experience with their books and
the ill-fated check writing. Also, I share the
frustration everyone has here in waiting for
functions promised for years (options, to name one).

In short, I am unequivocally ambivalent. If that's
not definite enough, I will further state that I
am absolutely certain that I don't know whether I
want to bail out or not.
