BB, The Feds KNOW they are painting themselves in a corner and they are going to HAVE to give more than lip service to what they say... GS finds himself on the horns of a dilemma... if he doesn't do anything, the markets will continue to soar and when he HAS to do something they will crash... and time is of the essence. The real trick here is to somehow work interest rates up enough so putting your money in the bank competes with throwing it in the stock market... and not cause a major or permanent market dislocation. GS can do it but time is running out. The question? Will he continue to fiddle while Rome burns or will he act decisively? A 1/2 point boost will tell EVERYONE he means business. Bill
