I haven't come across any reference to the news on carcinogens in diesel. You know there must be carcinogens in diesel exhaust, the question is, to what degree? I suspect the article must have been a filler, in other words old news. I would like to see a comparison of diesel carcinogens with gasoline exhaust or with the effluents of other fuels. Included in the comparison would be energy and pollutant efficiency. That is, given a certain amount of toxic substances in each type of exhaust, how many miles can you travel while producing it? For example, I may be wrong, but I believe gasoline gives you twice as many miles per gallon than methanol, and diesel is more efficient that gasoline. And to be fair, I would like the diesel to be clean, such as #1, and the diesel injectors to be in good condition as well.
