Just had a weird thought.

Everybody knows how much Scott is against reselling Windows but if
SUN were to port Windows NT on their UltraSPARC architecture would
it make great business sense? Since NT cannot really scale, it's
not much of a threat to the high end Unix systems. SUN could beat
the crap out of other Intel based resellers like Compaq, Dell, HP,..
just because their workstations are much better and UltraSPARC III
will be the fastest processor later this year?

I'm really not sure how much effort would be needed to port it to
another architecture. I'd think that doing this would help SUN sell more
hardware and thereby more money to spend on Java.

It's not going to happen but if it did, it'll send shivers down the
spine of Compaq, Dell, HP,...

Cheers,

Babu
