Hi Don,
I wasn't vacationing - just very busy with all that's happening with Wolf. I had two days filled with meetings because our new brochures just hit the streets. I'm sorry I didn't get back to you sooner - so much technology, so little time...
Last weekend, Wolf Industries was at a Dental Conference in Anaheim with the Dental Color Analyzer. Just like when we showed the DCA at the Vancouver Conference, the feedback was phenomenal. All we need now is to get the product on the market (expected within 90 days).
The dentists I've spoken to have been incredibly eager for the DCA's arrival. The speed and accuracy of the machine will eliminate so much of the extra time that is spent on the correction of improper color matching. Their enthusiasm is wonderful, and it instills alot of confidence in me for the future success of the DCA. What I have also found helpful are the leads I've received through the dentists I've been dealing with, ie. dental publishers, offers for demonstrations, lectures, etc. Dentist acceptance is the key to the success of this product, which leads me to your question of sales projections...
The product isn't on the market yet, so it's awfully hard for me to give you concrete sales expectations. But this is how I figure it...it's expected that the DCA will retail for approximately $5,000. From what I understand, there are around 200,000 (give or take 10,000) dentists in North America. I have no idea how many there are in the world, but I have contacted a selection of dentists from other countries (England, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, etc., etc.), and have received extremely positive responses along with requests for more information on price and availability. Add into the mix the incredible number of dental labs that may want a machine to check the accuracy of their own work before it is sent back to the dentist (thus eliminating virtually all margin for error) - and the potential market is huge.
I know this doesn't answer your sales question Don, but I wouldn't even want to guess at this point. My opinion is that the response we've had so far will be translated into the marketplace in the form of revenues, and will be magnified from the sheer competitiveness of the medical/technology fields. Based on the positive feedback I've heard, it sounds like the DCA is long overdue and will fill a very important need for dentists.
You also mentioned the volume, which has been great lately. The interest in Wolf Industries and the Dental Color Analyzer is definitely out there. There's been a ton of requests for packages so we'll be getting those out this week. As far as the release you mentioned, check in at this thread because I'll be posting any company updates here.
You also asked me if we would be posting the brochure on the internet...we're working on getting a website up, so it will probably reflect everything that's in the brochure. In the meantime, I'll send you one. It's worth taking a look at because it gives an overview of the industry, as well as the DCA.
Sorry again about the delay on my response.
Take care,
