Elk ~ >>How the hell does someone get from the announcement of a Management team, the announcement of independent OPERATION of FNET, and the schedule and timeframe of the rollout, to FTEL owners are getting screwed<<

Now there's a good question! I asked Helen what had changed by FNET spinning off as an independent subsidiary and guess what? She said that the only change is that Frank has turned over the reigns to the new boys and are letting them run with it. He will continue to be on the board but is not responsible for the everyday operations. That, plus the accounting will be seperate.

I asked her if FTEL still owned 60% of FNET and she said she thought it was closer to 70%. Evidently, it is a function of the IPO of FNET to determine how the FTEL shareholders will be compensated. There are considerations such as capital gains (nice problem) that need to be resolved.

I was taking Martin's word on how many DVGs would be deployed in each city, so I asked about that too. The colocate agreement requires Franklin to install a minimum of one FULL rack at each location. A rack can hold as few as eight and as many as 13 units, depending on how they are configured. Why did I ever doubt you, Martin. ggg

The most positive thing I picked up was that this new crew is planning a faster deployment to the international cities. That's why 25% of the first group is going to be international. I think this is very smart because it seems to me that the incentive is much greater for companies (and individuals) to hop on the new band(width)wagon.
