Jan, you might consider pushing the options into June
40s and (later) 45s for a $1 or so credit per contract.
May premiums in the money are now low to nil, June premiums are high.
Of course that would protect you from a drop well below 40, but we all know by now that it is impossible.:) You might as well milk the premiums while you are short. You also might consider outright sale
of a portion of uncovered stock and rollover maintenance of the covered shares. If you add a few months to the rollout date you can increase the strike price (i.e. from 40 to all 45s) now that a volatility premium has returned.
